Connexxus

Connexxus is a UC systemwide online travel booking portal developed for UC travelers to plan and book their travel.

Overview

Connexxus is a secure web portal with access to UC’s Systemwide Travel Program comprehensive rates and benefits for all those affiliated with UC. The travel team at the UC Office of the President negotiates discounts and rewards with major airlines, hotel properties, car rental companies, rail and travel agencies on behalf of all of UC Regents.

Connexxus is accessed through the Company Notes section of AggieTravel.

UC Davis Travel card and CTS transactions for travel services booked through agencies found within Connexxus import directly into AggieTravel for trip expense reporting.


Benefits of Using Connexxus

Connexxus has UC policies and economical costs built into its portal. The one-stop-shop portal provides the following benefits:

  • Rental car rates reduced by up to 15% via prior agreements with Hertz and National.
  • No out-of-pocket airfare costs.
  • Hotel discounts of 12% to 25% off the best rates otherwise available with Marriott and Starwood.
  • Air travel discounts apply to Southwest Airlines, Jet Blue, Virgin, American Airlines and associated international carriers.
  • Lower agency fees than traditional travel agencies.
  • Weekly billing files, sent directly to Accounting, containing the reservation codes to ensure itinerary expenses match imported expenses in AggieTravel.
  • Automated, mandatory, Travel Insurance form when booking airfare through BCD (see below).
  • Full service agency assistance for cancelled tickets.

Travel Arranger

Do you need a delegate to make travel arrangements on your behalf? You must first add them as a Travel Arranger in the Connexxus portal.

  • Under your AggieTravel Company Notes section, click on the Connexxus Travel Portal (arranger delegation) link. 
  • Click Edit Profile
  • Click Add Arranger
  • Search arranger by last name or email
  • Check the Can Book and Can Access boxes
  • Save changes

  • What is CTS?
  • The Central Travel System (CTS) is a direct bill airfare program available to all UC Davis business travelers.

    A department billing ID must be entered into the AggieTravel Profile Expense Information screen to use the CTS account. 

  • What Should I do the First Time I Access Connexxus?
  • Complete the required fields on the Connexxus profile page. If you have loyalty memberships, complete those fields in your profile, and any time travel is booked, loyalty points accumulate, even with the CTS payment.

  • How do I add a Travel Arranger?
  • Do you need a delegate to make travel arrangements on your behalf? You must first add them as a Travel Arranger in the Connexxus portal.

    1. Under your AggieTravel Company Notes section, click on the Connexxus Travel Portal (arranger delegation) link. 
    2. Click Edit Profile

  • My email address in Connexxus is incorrect, how do I correct it?
  • The email address in Connexxus is your Kerberos user ID@ucdavis.edu and cannot be modified. You can add your campus email address in your AggieTravel Profile Personal Information screen. 

  • How do we obtain duplicate itineraries after travel has occurred for travel reporting processes?
  • The AggieTravel trip library will hold all previous trips that were billed to the CTS account, for employee travelers.
  • Can personal travel be booked through AggieTravel?
  • Yes, please book personal travel during your own time and make sure to use your personal credit card. CTS is blocked for personal use and Travel cards are not allowed for personal use.
  • How are airline loyalty points accumulated and redeemed?
  • Anytime transactions are booked in AggieTravel, loyalty points are accumulated, regardless of the payment type. Loyalty points can be redeemed directly through the airline.
  • If a credit is at the agency, is it tied to only that traveler or could it be used for another traveler within the department?
  • In most cases, airline tickets are non-transferable. However, because of UC's relationship with some airlines, the airline will allow name changes on restrictive tickets less penalty fees, etc. The request needs to be made through BCD Travel.
