University employees may purchase items from AggieSurplus for their own personal use with some restrictions.

University policy prohibits university property from being purchased by, or gifted to, any of the following:
- An employee of the department releasing the property.
- An employee of Supply Chain Management Distribution & Logistics or UC Davis Health Plant Operations & Maintenance (PO&M) departments.
- A near relative* of any employee listed above.
No one restricted from purchasing items may have others make purchases from AggieSurplus on their behalf.

*A near relative is a spouse, domestic partner, parent, child, or sibling, step-relatives, in-laws, a relative of a domestic partner, or a person residing in the same household as the employee.
