Occasionally AggieSurplus may be unable to sell an item. Because AggieSurplus is committed to sustainability and the university's public service mission, we will donate these surplus items on a first-come, first-served basis.
Only AggieSurplus is authorized to make donations, once items are cleared for donation to approved non-profit 501 (c)(3) organizations, including:
- accredited schools
- other universities
- social service agencies
Getting on the donation list
In order to be added to the approved list for equipment donations:
- The agency must complete the Application form (PDF). This form must be on file before any items can be donated from AggieSurplus.
- Mail or email AggieSurplus the completed form.
All registered agencies are added to the donation list, used to send periodic emails about special donation events and available items. Please let us know if you do not want to be added to this list.
Viewing Items and the Donation Process
To see what items are available for donation, search online by selecting Donation in the Category field. These items are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If you are interested in an item, please email AggieSurplus or call 530-752-2145 to make the necessary arrangements.
The donated items should be removed as soon as possible. To satisfy tax reporting requirements, a donation acknowledgement should be given to AggieSurplus at the time of donation. This must be on the organization's letterhead, and include their tax ID number.
