SPIN Projects Include Transportation Study, Capitol Corridor Signage

 UC Davis’ partnership with SPIN has led to a new study centered on public transportation.

The Institute of Transportation Studies (ITS) is looking at the impact of discounted or free micromobility trips for the final portion of a commute on public transit. The study focuses on Capitol Corridor riders who commute to and from Davis. It includes a group that receives subsidized trips, paid for by funding from SPIN, and a comparison group that does not. 

As part of the project, the City of Davis, which owns the Davis train station property, tidied up the area, trimming overgrown planters and adding wayfinding signs created by Repro Graphics and funded by SPIN. The signs help riders find the dedicated SPIN parking area next to the station, helping to ensure that the vehicles are parked properly and ready for the next rider.
