Furniture Program Moving to Design & Construction Management
In an effort to streamline the furniture buying process, the Furniture Program is moving from Supply Chain Management to Design & Construction Management (DCM) Special Projects Group, effective Monday Oct. 21, 2019. Campus customers will still receive assistance in purchasing contracted office furniture through partnered suppliers, and DCM will collaborate with Special Services to insure that delivery and installation is completed quickly and efficiently.
This process improvement is not expected to increase departmental costs associated with furniture purchases or decrease the level of customer service that the Furniture Program has provided.
The existing furniture showroom at 650 La Rue Road (AggieSurplus) will remain open. Customers can make appointments to visit the showroom for chair fittings via furniture@ucdavis.edu. In addition to the showroom at AggieSurplus, there are also several UC Davis standard furniture items on display at the newly renovated office of DCM, located at 255 Cousteau Place.
To learn more about acquiring furniture through DCM or to initiate a request, email furniture@ucdavis.edu.
Campus clients can still purchase low-cost furniture items through AggieBuy. In addition, Supply Chain Management will still offer chair rentals to the campus.
