SCM Assists Team Focused on Modular Emergency Facility
Demo of System's Capability is a Success
Last year, the UC Davis School of Medicine received a grant to pilot a National Disaster Medical System (NDMS) Modular system and show proof of its capabilities. Supply Chain Management partnered early on to assist with procurement, service and storage needs to ensure that the demonstration schedule was met.
The project team performed two demonstrations: one at the UC Davis Health medical facility, and the other at Travis Air Force Base. Each time, the project team was able to successfully demonstrate the partnerships with the state’s emergencies units, as well as the ability to put together an emergency intake facility.
Last week at UC Davis Health, the project team completed the first of two demonstrations of the interoperative ability of the different manufactured tents.
Plans are now underway for a site demo at the Brooke Army Medical Center in Houston, which includes assessing the logistics of moving all the products, labor, equipment rentals, and other factors required for a successful demo in Texas.
