Amazon "Dedicated Delivery" Provides the Benefits of Prime and the Last Mile Initiative

Beginning Monday, Feb. 23, you’ll see something new when checking out with Amazon in Aggie Enterprise: Dedicated Delivery.

Amazon has joined the Last Mile Initiative to help improve safety and reduce emissions by cutting vehicle traffic on campus through the use of existing Mail Services delivery routes. Orders will now default to “Dedicated Delivery” as the shipping option. You'll still get fast, free delivery, but Dedicated Delivery packages will be delivered by Campus Mail Services employees who are knowledgeable about campus locations, have access to buildings, and will only deliver during campus business hours.

Here’s how it works:

  • Amazon orders in Aggie Enterprise will default to "Dedicated Delivery."
  • Packages headed to campus delivery stops will receive "Dedicated Delivery" service. Packages to locations not serviced by Campus Mail Services will continue to be delivered by Amazon drivers.
  • Pallets of Amazon packages will arrive early each morning at Central Receiving and assigned to department delivery locations in AggieLogistics.
  • Mail Services will deliver the packages to campus locations that day.
  • The recipient will receive a confirmation email once the package has been delivered.

We look forward to providing the campus with a quick, efficient and more sustainable option for Amazon package delivery.
