New Year to Bring Changes to SCM Organizational Structure

Tim Maguire, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Supply Chain Management & Chief Procurement Officer, has announced several changes to the Supply Chain Management organizational structure. The reorganization will become effective Jan. 1, 2021.

"The challenges of the past year have truly demonstrated the need for Supply Chain Management to be operating at its very highest level," Maguire said. "This reorganization will help us continue to do our best work while aligning to support the university in the most efficient way possible."

Distribution & Logistics is currently a large and diverse unit with multiple and varied services and operations. While all of these sub-units serve to support a complete supply chain organization, the current structure has several disparate services and operations aligned together. To better align those sub-units, they will be separated into three separate units: Supply Chain Operations (Interim Associate Director Chris Honan), Distribution & Logistics (Interim Associate Director Jen Carmichael) and Repro Graphics (Director Donna Horbelt).

All procurement and contracting activities will be consolidated into a single unit, Procurement, with Mike Morgan as Interim Director. Steven Kobayashi will serve as Associate Director of Procurement and Business Contracts. With the challenges and added responsibilities of ensuring that covered services are brought in-house whenever possible, Commercial Services will now be its own sub-unit, headed up by Kay Gallinger as Team Lead.
